Andrzej Siwkiewicz, 4th Degree Black Belt
Andrzej Siwkiewicz Sensei began his martial arts training in 1982 in Poland studying Tai Chi Chuan and Kung Fu Hung Gar style. He joined Warsaw University Aikido Club in 1983. In 1989 he moved to West Berlin where he trained in the Aikido-Zen Institute under Gerhard Walter Shihan.
After moving to United States, Siwkiewicz Sensei continued his Aikido practice in several places among them in Rochester, NY. In 1997 he joined Cleveland Aikikai. He received his shodan in 2002 from Hiroshi Ikeda Shihan, nidan from Mitsugi Saotome Shihan in 2006. and sandan in 2010. He was promoted to yondan by Saotome Shihan in 2016.
Siwkiewicz Sensei has been teaching classes in Cleveland Aikikai and the Oberlin Aikido Club since 2005. In 2006 he became the head instructor of the Oberlin College Aikido Club, also known as Oberlin Aikikai. He frequently travels in the US and abroad visiting dojos, attending seminars, studying with instructors and students around the world.
In addition to adult classes, Siwkiewicz Sensei is also teaching Aiki-Kids on Wednesday evenings.
