Andrzej Siwkiewicz, 5th Degree Black Belt

Andrzej SiwkiewiczAndrzej Siwkiewicz Sensei began his martial arts training in Poland studying Tai Chi Chuan and Hung Gar style of Kung Fu. In 1983 he joined Warsaw University Aikido Club and trained under Roman Hoffman Sensei. In 1989 he moved to West Berlin where he trained in the Aikido-Zen Institute in Kreuzberg under Gerhard Walter Shihan.

After moving to the United States, Siwkiewicz Sensei continued his Aikido practice in Rochester, NY. In 1997 he joined Cleveland Aikikai. He received Shodan rank from Hiroshi Ikeda Shihan in 2001. In 2023 he was promoted to Godan by Mitsugi Saotome Shihan at the Kagami Biraki celebration. He is also holding Shodan in Daito-Ryu Aiki-Jutsu awarded by Antonino Certa Shihan.

Since 2005 Siwkiewicz Sensei has been teaching classes in Cleveland Aikikai as well as the Oberlin Aikido Club where he is also hosting seminars with visiting instructors as the head instructor of the Oberlin Aikikai. He frequently travels visiting dojos in US, Europe and Asia, attending seminars, studying with instructors and students around the world..
