Tomek Wardega Sensei
Tomek Wardega, 4th Degree Black Belt
Tomek Wardega Sensei began practicing Aikido at the Technical University of Gdansk, Poland in 1989. In 1990 he traveled to Sheffield, England and practiced Jujitsu. In 1991 he returned to Poland and, unable to find an Aikido dojo, he practiced Karate.
Wardega Sensei resumed practicing Aikido in October 1996 – in Shaker Heights Aikido club affiliated with Mitsugi Saotome Shihan’s Aikido Schoools of Ueshiba. He joined Cleveland Aikikai in 1998. He received his Shodan (first degree black belt) in 2002, Nidan (second degree black belt) in 2006 from Mitsugi Saotome Shihan, and Sandan in 2015 (third degree black belt) from Wendy Whited Shihan. In 2023 he was promoted to Yondan (fourth degree black belt) by Mitsugi Saotome Shihan.
He became an instructor at Cleveland Aikikai in 2006.
In addition to teaching and studying at Cleveland Aikikai, Wardega Sensei attends seminars and martial arts camps in the United States and seeks training opportunities during his travels abroad.
